TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – One man was killed and two other people seriously injured in an early morning accident on Tucson Aviation Parkway early Friday, June 25.
According to Tucson Police, Jose Guillermo Mendez-Orduno was the driver and died on the scene. Two passengers suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police said 23-year-old Mendez-Orduno was driving east on Aviation Parkway at high speed just before 4 a.m. when he was unable to turn a corner. His vehicle hit a curb, rolled over and finally came to a stop off the road.
None of the inmates were buckled up, three were thrown.
The police said that excessive speed was a major factor in the accident.
