One arrested in Sunday’s fatal shooting in Downtown Tucson



TUCSON (KVOA) – A man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting in downtown Tucson on Sunday.

Police identified one of the suspects as 21-year-old Luis Alberto Garcia on Tuesday. The second suspect has not been identified.

Garcia was found Tuesday morning by police in a hotel in Block 600 on E. Wetmore Road.

Tucson Police have identified Garcia as the driver of the truck involved.

On Monday, police released surveillance photos of two suspects wanted in connection with the shooting in which a man died.

On Sunday just after 2 a.m., officials reported in a parking garage at 345 E. Congress St.

Police said 52-year-old Mark Edward Doe was on the first floor of the garage with gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.

Garcia was subsequently charged with first degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm in 6 cases, aggravated assault with a fatal weapon in 3 cases, and robbery, car theft and vandalism in 4 cases.

He is currently being held in the Pima District Adult Detention Center.
