TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – A pedestrian was killed and a driver may be charged following an accident in Tucson late Saturday, July 31st.

Tucson police said it happened around 8:30 p.m. in Block 300 on West Valencia Road around 8:30 p.m.

An as yet unidentified pedestrian was hit and died.

Witnesses told officers a vehicle was traveling west on Valencia when the pedestrian entered the street. The driver could not avoid the woman in time.

The TPD said the driver was impaired at the time of the collision and the preliminary investigation found that both the pedestrian crossing and the driver under the influence contributed to the accident.
