TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – A man pleaded guilty to the fatal shooting of his girlfriend in May 2020.
Yahkwez Desean Wilson pleaded guilty to second degree murder and child molestation Thursday, October 14.
According to the authorities, Wilson and Chad Edmondson are responsible for the death of Wilson’s friend Christina Leeann Nunley.
Nunley was found dead in a hotel room on the 1400 block of South Craycroft Road. US marshals arrested Wilson two days later, while US marshals and Oro Valley police arrested Edmondson eight days later.
Tucson police say Nunley stayed at the hotel with Wilson and his children when she allegedly asked another guest at the hotel to use her room to meet someone. Once in this room, Nunley allegedly asked for privacy during the meeting and the room was partitioned with a blanket.
A single shot was fired during the meeting and Nunley was found unresponsive in the room the same day. After the first responders arrived, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wilson had been charged or charged with aggravated robbery and first degree murder, the same allegations Edmonson still faces.
Wilson’s hearing on the verdict is scheduled for Friday, January 14th. Edmondson’s preliminary negotiation conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 21st.
