TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Officials said a woman died from a gunshot wound near downtown Tucson on Wednesday October 20.
The public safety communications department was called to a social checkpoint near West 18th Street and South Frontage Road shortly after 9:30 a.m. They found a woman unresponsive near the northwest corner of the intersection. The officers pronounced her dead at the scene.
The woman was identified as 70-year-old Linda Marie Mendibles.
After the investigation, the detectives found that Mendibles had suffered a gunshot trauma.
No suspects are currently in custody. Detectives ask anyone with information to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
