TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Several aircrews battled a fire in an assisted living facility maintenance building in the Tucson area late Monday, October 25th.

The Green Valley Fire District said the fire started around 8 p.m. in La Posada, a senior community in Green Valley. The fire was down around midnight and there were no injuries.

The building was far away from all living quarters so that the residents were not at risk.

The roof of the building collapsed and the crews have to go inside to get everything out for an investigation.

There were no sprinklers on the facility, but officials said they are recommended but not required for a building this size.

The Corona de Tucson Fire District, Rural Metro Fire, and Drexel Heights Fire District helped the GVFD fight the fire.
