TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Arizona bounced back from an early deficit to crush Grand Canyon University in the first round of the Tucson Regional on Friday June 4th.
The Wildcats beat the Antelopes 12-6 and advance to a game in the second round against UC Santa Barbara. The first pitch is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m.
Arizona, who had 17 hits, broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning before finishing the game on an eighth with five runs.
Tony Bullard led Arizona with three hits, three RBIs and one run. Tanner O’Tremba, Nik McClaughry and Kobe Kato each added two RBIs for the Wildcats.
TJ Nichols (5-3) took the win after giving up a run in 2 1/3 innings.
Pierson Ohl took the loss after giving up five runs on nine hits in five innings. Jacob Wilson led the Antelope with three hits, an RBI and a run.
