TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Authorities responded to an incident at Tucson International Airport late Tuesday, July 13th.

An airport spokesman was only able to confirm that “there was a security incident that required further checks on an arriving aircraft”.

The spokesman said the plane had been evacuated, passengers were allowed to disembark, and additional details would have to come from the FBI.

An FBI spokesman said agents had assisted the airport police, Tucson police and the Pima County sheriff’s department. The FBI also said there was no threat to the public.

A woman who said she was a passenger on the plane reached out to KOLD News 13.

She said the pilot told them that federal agents had received a lead on a suspicious device in a piece of luggage on the plane.

The passenger also said that a woman was taken off the flight.
