TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Tucson police say a suspect was identified in connection with a murder investigation on Sunday, September 19.

Following an investigation, 36-year-old Jose Luis Norzagaray was located and taken into custody. He was sent to Pima County Jail for being a banned owner, not staying on the scene of a fatal accident, and illegally escaping law enforcement.

The shooting, in which three people were injured, occurred at around 5:30 am at the Santa Cruz Vista Apartments, 1240 W. Ajo Way on Sunday, September 19.

Police said they were informed Tuesday, September 21, that 38-year-old Carrissa Marie Santa Cruz died in hospital after being hit by a vehicle. She was taken to the Banner University medical center for treatment for life-threatening injuries on Sunday.

Police say Santa Cruz was hit during a confrontation in which two men, both in their twenties, were shot and a third man was hit by a stray bullet in his home.

All three men were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
