TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – A man was stabbed to death Wednesday, October 13, during a traffic incident on Interstate 10 near Craycroft Road in Tucson.
Tucson police said Louis James Gallardo, 53, died on the scene.
Aimee Vasile, who identified herself as the sister of Gallardo’s friend, told KOLD News 13 on Wednesday night that her sister was devastated.
“She’s very emotional, very upset, and crying. She just can’t believe Lou is gone and what they’re going to do with her house and animals and all of the life they’ve had in those few years, “said Vasile.
According to the TPD, several emergency calls were received around 4:40 p.m. The road remained closed until 11 p.m.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found bystanders performing CPR on Gallardo. Paramedics from the Tucson Fire Department took over, but he still died on the scene.
The TPD said the incident may have started on I-10 near the Houghton Road exit. As the two vehicles drove west, they stopped near Craycroft and a fight broke out.
The other driver, an unidentified man, stayed at the scene and was questioned by detectives.
The TPD said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
The results of the investigation will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office, who will determine whether a charge will be brought.
