State prison inmate in Tucson dies; Appears to be a suicide

TUCSON, Arizona (AP) – An Arizona prison inmate in Tucson has died and what appears to be a suicide, authorities said Monday.

Arizona Corrections Department officials said 67-year-old Michael L. Ring died last Thursday “from an apparent laceration”.

They said Tucson State Prison personnel found Ring unresponsive at his assigned place of residence and he was pronounced dead by responding paramedics.

Ring was jailed in 1978 after being convicted of murder, robbery, burglary, and theft, multiple kidnapping and assault with a lethal weapon from Yuma County.
