TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – A severe storm rolled through the Tucson area on Friday July 2, causing a lot of damage.

A possible Landspout was discovered on the speedway by KOLD spectator Kelly Gallagher Julien and NWS Tucson confirmed it was investigating.

According to NOAA: A land spout is a tornado with a narrow, rope-like condensation funnel that forms while the thundercloud is still growing and there is no rotating updraft – the rotation occurs near the ground.

KOLD received reports of damage throughout the area.

In Block 3100 on East Prince Road, a two-story house under construction was blown up.

At the intersection of Magee and LaCanada, a shed crashed into a power pole.

According to Alana Flowers, a large tree was felled in an apartment complex near River and Campbell.

Power lines on First Avenue between the River and Wetmore were demolished, according to Tucson Police.

“TRAFFIC WARNING”

All trips on N. 1st Ave. will be between E. River Rd. and E. Wetmore Rd. until tomorrow due to failed power lines.

It wasn’t all bad, though. The area finally got the much-needed rain.

Twitter user @TucsonDrone posted a drone footage of the laundry near River and La Canada flowing after the storms streaked through.
