TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – A 15-year-old boy is in jail without ties on Friday, July 9, after allegedly shooting another teenager two days earlier.
Tucson police arrested Terrayne Newsome, 15, for first degree murder after finding him in a house in southern Tucson near 12th Avenue and Los Reales Road, according to a press release.
Tucson Police said officers were called to the 4250 E. 29th Street complex at around 12:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
According to a press release from the police, when first aiders arrived, passers-by were found taking care of 18-year-old Felix Alexandrew Pichardo. Medics took care of Pichardo on site before taking him to Banner University Medical Center, where he died shortly after his arrival.
Through interviews and evidence gathering, police said the violent crimes department found that Pichardo had gotten into a physical confrontation before he was shot and identified Newsome as a suspect.
A SWAT team searched a nearby apartment and found additional evidence. Police said they are still actively investigating Pichardo’s death. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call 88-CRIME. Callers can remain anonymous.
