TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – The 15th annual Tucson Classics Car Show takes place on Saturday. The Tucson Rotary announced to KOLD News 13 that there are more than 400 classic cars, sports cars, classic cars and hot rods on display.
Rotary changes lives, builds community, eliminates polio in the world, helps and fundraises for local charities, and lives by the motto “Service About Yourself”. Since our inception in 1921, the Rotary Club of Tucson and its 501 (c) (3) Foundation has reached out to the community through charitable giving and physical labor projects. In 2007 we stepped up our efforts to help the less fortunate and start the Tucson Classics Car Show. All net profits are distributed to 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit charities that are reviewed and selected by club members. Funding supports local charities that help more children and young adults reach their potential. This is how Rotary lives our motto “Service Above Self”
The Tucson Classics Car Show has donated over $ 1.7 million to local charities. Money raised from previous shows helped:
- Children’s literacy
- Vocational training
- Women and young people in need
- Others across the community
