TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) – The Community Food Bank will be closed for inventory Thursday, July 1, and will not provide emergency food distribution at its Tucson location and other supplies.

The only center opening July 1 is the Amado Resource Center on 28720 S. Nogales Highway. They are open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There will also be earlier meal times, with the blackboard opening an hour earlier to provide emergency food distribution on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the 3003 S. Country Club. These new opening times come into effect on July 6th.

According to the panel, this change is intended to maximize distribution in the cooler hours of the morning.

“We continue to offer drive-through distribution, with the earlier hours providing a little relief for volunteers, staff, and members of the Arizona National Guard Service who work to bring food to cars when needed,” said Michael McDonald, CEO of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.

Masks are optional at the outside food distribution in the 3003 S. Country Club and in all resource centers of the Community Food Bank.

There is also a walk-up option for those who do not ride or drive a vehicle.
