Tucson Jazz Festival announces 2022 lineup

TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – HSL Properties Tucson Jazz Festival released the lineup for its 2022 events on Saturday, July 24, at a special event at the Rialto Theater that evening.

Returning after a two-year hiatus, the festival will feature eight mainstage acts from around the world in six different locations. This is the eighth season of the festival.

HSL Properties announced Jon Batiste as headliner in a press release.

Women will also be “in the spotlight”, with well-known artists such as Loni Hall and Dianne Reeves as well as emerging artists such as French jazz singer Cyrille Amilee.

More acts and venues are yet to be confirmed, according to HSL Properties, but the line-up as of July 2021 includes:

  • Friday January 14th: Dave Stryker – 8 Track, Eric Alexander – Sax and Strings at the Fox Tucson Theater
  • Saturday 15th January: Cyrille Amilee, Adonis Rose and Nojo y. Supporting act Tucson Jazz Ellington Band at the Fox Tucson Theater
  • Saturday, January 15th: Jazz Jam in the Hotel Congress
  • Sunday, January 16: “Arpeggio” pre-show event with music, food and drinks at The Citizen Hotel.
  • Sunday January 16: Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin at the Fox Tucson Theater.
  • Monday, January 17th: Downtown Tucson Jazz Fiesta feat. Kendrick Scott, TJF Artist in Residence with the UA Fred Fox Jazz Ensemble and the Tucson Jazz Institute.
  • Thursday. January 20th: Spanish Harlem Orchestra with guest of honor Sergio Mendoza and Friends at the Rialto Theater.
  • Friday January 21st: Jon Batiste presented with Arizona Arts Live at Centennial Hall.
  • Saturday, January 22nd: Jazz afternoon in the Hotel Congress Plaza.
  • Saturday, January 22nd: Herb Alpert and Lani Hall in the Rialto Theater.
  • Saturday January 23rd: Dianne Reeves at the Leo Rich Theater
