TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – Tucson police confirm two people are dead after an early morning shooting on the south side. The incident occurred on Wednesday March 10th at an apartment complex at 5515 S Forgeus Ave.
According to a press release, officers arrived at the scene and found a red Honda Civic that had collided with a wall as a result of the shooting.
There were two adult men in the vehicle with obvious gunshot wounds. Despite police efforts to rescue the men, both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Officials identified the victims as 23-year-old Christopher Luiz Nunez and 22-year-old Bernadino Santamarina.
A preliminary investigation shows the victims were caught in a confrontation with another group in a nearby parking lot, and gunfire broke out shortly afterwards.
