TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – It’s been a record breaking and violent week in Tucson.
On the night of Thursday, October 21, the Old Pueblo recorded its 80th murder with more than 72 days to go. This broke the 79 homicides mark set in 2008.
Since October 13 alone, there have been three fatal shootings, one fatal stabbing and one fatal domestic fight.
Deadly street rage stabbing
On Wednesday October 13, 53-year-old Louis James Gallardo was fatally stabbed in a traffic accident on Interstate 10 near Craycroft Road.
No one was arrested until October 22nd and the investigation is ongoing.
Tucson Police said their findings will be presented to the Pima County Attorney’s Office, who will decide whether to bring charges.
Fatal shootout in Mission Manor Park
On Monday, October 18, 21-year-old Ocean Frederick Washington was shot dead in Mission Manor Park on South 12th Avenue.
The TPD quickly arrested Deandre Isaiah Antone, 19, for first degree murder and drive-by shooting.
The shootout is still being investigated and anyone with information will be asked to call 88-CRIME or 911.
Deadly road rage shooting
On Tuesday, October 19, 21-year-old Savannah Narcaroti was shot dead in a traffic accident in Block 3700 of East Monte Vista Drive.
The next day, the TPD arrested 30-year-old Justin Clark Nichols for first degree murder, drive-by gunfight, aggravated assault, and endangerment. He was found at a hotel near Interstate 10 and West 22nd Street.
Another man was also injured in the shooting, but has not been identified and is expected to survive.
The shootout is still being investigated and anyone with information will be asked to call 88-CRIME or 911.
Fatal shootout in downtown Tucson
On Wednesday October 20, 70-year-old Linda Marie Mendibles was fatally shot in downtown Tucson.
The TPD said Mendibles was found dead near West 18th Street and South Frontage Road.
No suspects have been in custody since Friday, October 22nd.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
Deadly domestic fight
On Thursday, October 21, 69-year-old Dan Emanuel Harris died after a domestic argument in a house on the 100 block of East Palmas Place.
The TPD quickly arrested Robert Jaime Martinez, 42, for second degree murder.
Authorities said Harris and Martinez lived in the house with other family members.
Non-fatal stabbing in Kennedy Park
On Wednesday, October 20, a woman was stabbed to death in Kennedy Park.
She was treated and released from the hospital, but the armed suspect escaped.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
