After an extensive search that included 12 different options considered across the community, the Tucson Convention Center was selected.

This puts the club in the heart of the city center and on the Modern Streetcar line. This provides connections to the West Side, Fourth Avenue, the University of Arizona, and the Banner University Medical Center and the staff who work there.

It also puts the club on the path of opportunity and in the middle of the fastest growing part of Tucson. In the past eight years (before the pandemic), over 3,000 workers, dozens of employers, over 2,800 new housing units, and 95 new retail stores have moved to the central business district.

The announcement by the Tucson Convention Center that it is now the home of the Tucson Rotary Club sends a positive message to our community. The TCC branding with the Tucson Rotary Club’s centenary logo and the words “Meets Here Wednesday at Noon” is priceless.

Downtown is where the club started 100 years ago and it is fitting that it is returning there during its centenary.

In the two weeks following the announcement of the move, 10 new potential movers and shakers began the process of joining the club. The move will also ease our efforts to attract more women and a younger age group, and to seek membership that better reflects Tucson’s diversity.
