Who still remembers when the Tanque Verde Swap Meet took place on Tanque Verde?
In 1975 Richard Chapin started the Tanque Verde Swap Meet with the help of his parents and sister Linda Fiore. He was 22 years old then.
“I remember it from day one – that was strange. Phew We had three salespeople, ”Chapin said in a 2001 Tucson Citizen story.
In 1987, the exchange moved from Tanque Verde and Grant Streets to its current location on Palo Verde Road near Ajo Way.
