“My truth is that we have run out of money, resources, and time to engage each community. Our platform is solid, integrative and critically well thought out, ”said LiBosha. “I believe that in a society that prescribes systems (and) practices for society as a whole to participate in the electoral process, it would have come to a very different conclusion.”

Dahl will take over from Ward 3 early next year and stand for re-election in 2025.

Tucson City Councilor Steve Kozachik will remain in office after receiving 65% of the vote for Ward 6 election.

Kozachik is a Democrat who has been a member of the Council since 2009. During his tenure, he has stayed at the forefront of efforts on a number of key city issues such as road repair and 5G power pole placement.

He plans to focus on water safety issues during his next four-year term, particularly groundwater that has been contaminated with potentially harmful chemicals called PFAS. Other topics in Kozachik’s crosshairs include containing COVID-19 and creating more high-paying jobs in Tucson.

“I am grateful to the community for recognizing the work my staff and I have done over the past four years,” said Kozachik. “We have some really fundamental, important issues before us. We’re just looking forward to digging in first thing tomorrow morning. “
