Eurofins CellTx will establish cellular therapy testing lab in Tucson

Eurofins Donor Testing Services, which provides comprehensive laboratory services to meet the unique testing and processing needs of the transplant community, announced today that it has selected Tucson, Arizona for its newest laboratory, Eurofins CellTx.

Eurofins CellTx is registered with the FDA for the screening of human cells, tissues and cell and tissue-based products (HCT / Ps) and will hold certifications, licenses or accreditations for CLIA, AABB, ISO 15189 and various government agencies. CellTx is designed to provide critical testing support for cell and gene therapy based products. The laboratory’s extensive testing menu will support these organizations from donor source to transplantable cell-based products.

Eurofins CellTx will be located in the Tech Park of the University of Arizona (UA), 9052 S. Rita Road. The UA Tech Park offers the ideal infrastructure for Eurofins CellTx and the connection to the University of Arizona so that the company can rapidly advance its cutting-edge technology. The move of Eurofins CellTx to the park aligns the facility with over 80 companies on a dynamic campus where emerging companies and technology giants work side by side. The new location in the UA Tech Park will include around 15,000 square meters of laboratory and administration building. The new laboratory should be completed in the second quarter of 2022.

The full five-year expansion will add 24 additional jobs to the Tucson facility, mainly laboratory technicians, technologists and managers. The total investment over the next five years will be approximately $ 3 million, for a total economic effect of $ 14 million.

In addition to Sun Corridor Inc., partners in the project are the Arizona Commerce Authority, Pima County, Michael Coretz from the Commercial Real Estate Group of Tucson and the University of Arizona Tech Park.
