TUCSON (KVOA) – It’s the heart of the Old Pueblo, and now the city of Tucson gives you a chance to ponder its future.
The City of Tucson recognizes Downtown and adjacent areas as the Central Business District.
The district was first adopted in 2012 and renewed in September by Mayor Romero and the council. And as we know, it’s a pretty significant core of the city.
Now the city is giving you a chance to have your say on what you would like to see down here in the future.
There will be six more meetings. Each takes 90 minutes and is moderated by a council member or the mayor herself.
“We need to keep talking about the benefits and opportunities here,” said Barbra Coffee of Tucson City Business Initiatives. “Think about what to look forward to. And continue to help our small businesses and local businesses recover and recover from COVID.”
The goal of the city of Tucson is to bring a lot of private developers to the area so that they can mingle with public developers.
The next meeting is Tuesday at 11 a.m. For more information on how to participate, visit Connect Tucson.
