TUCSON, AZ – Tucson’s first sports betting retail location at Casino Del Sol opened on Thursday.
SolSports is a 4,000-square-foot venue with more than 60 televisions, including jumbo flat screens and a high-definition video wall, according to a press release from the casino. Visitors can place their bets at six live ticket counters or eight self-service betting kiosks.
“Our ability to offer sports betting to our guests has lasted for many years, and we are delighted that our vision will be realized with SolSports,” said Pascua Yaqui Tribe Chairman Peter Yucupicio in the press release. “This new game option will have a positive economic impact on our tribe and the state of Arizona.”
SolSports is located in the casino’s former Paradiso Lounge next to the Bingo Hall. There’s space for over 100 players to watch the big game, with access to a full bar and food service. Menu items include game day favorites such as burgers, hot dogs and chicken wings.
“Our team created a truly fantastic environment for sports fans to enjoy all of the game day’s action and we are excited to welcome Tucsonans to experience the excitement of personal sports betting at SolSports,” said Kimberly Van, CEO of Casino Del Sol Amburg in the press release.
Sports betting in Arizona was legalized in April and went online in September. The state provided licenses for 20 mobile sports betting companies, 10 Indian tribes, and 10 professional sports teams.
