Two people were shot dead in a house northwest of Tucson late Tuesday morning, and MPs are continuing to search for the shooter, officials say.
The shooting was reported at around 11:20 am in a house on the 7800 block of North Viewpointe Place near North Oldfather Road, north of West Ina Road. A neighbor said she heard several gunshots from inside the house.
The injuries to people in the home are not believed to be life-threatening, Deputy Marissa Hernandez, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s department, said in a press release.
The officers searched for the shooter until Tuesday afternoon. The shooter is believed to have run away after the shooting, but the sheriff’s department did not provide a description of him on Tuesday.
A motive for the shooting was not disclosed.
