A couple of comedians have added Tucson to their upcoming tours.
Gabriel Iglesias, alias Fluffy, brings his world tour “Beyond the Fluffy” to the AVA in Casino del Sol on November 13th.
For Iglesias, playing Tucson is like returning to the scene of a crime. One of his first road shows, when he started his stand-up career in the late 1990s, was at a club called Bugsy’s on the streets of North Oracle and West Roger, he recalled in a 2009 interview with the star. He kept the poster from the show that first saw his name and photo appear on a comedy poster, he said.
Tickets cost $ 40 to $ 100 through casinodelsol.com
Jo Koy brought his Just Kidding World Tour to Tucson Music Hall for two shows in September 2019. He’s back on the road with “Funny is Funny” – the 2.0 version of his world tour, which was discontinued in March 2020 in the wake of the pandemic.
With this go-around, on February 25, Koy graduated from the Music Hall with 2,300 seats, which he had sold out for both shows in 2019, to the Tucson Arena with almost 9,000 seats.
