Who: The Hotel Congress was ready to host a star-studded release party for the Whole Enchilada CD and book that chronicles Tucson’s live musical history. But this event has been postponed until next March due to some production issues.
So David Slutes, the resident music historian / freaky fan of Congress / and one of those legendary musicians (Sidewinders) switched over and decided to recruit some local musicians to cover hits from other local musicians. This means that Golden Boots will cover Barely Bipedal and will channel Los Esplifs Sergio Mendoza and Orkesta Mendoza.
Mariachi Luz de Luna has the enviable job of covering Lala Guerrero while Birds and Arrows tackle Sidewinders and Nightweather immerses itself in Mesquite. Tom Walbank will visit Rainer again while the TireBiters channel with Lex Browning from Poco Peter McLaughlin.
