A local antique store that has been in Tucson for more than 20 years is downsizing and making room for a Dollar Tree store.

Annabell’s Attic in Monterey Village on Speedway and Wilmot Road will take up the eastern half of the existing space after the renovation, said Matt Gillette, who co-owns the store with his wife Sherri.

“We are very fortunate in these times to have an open and thriving retail location here,” he said. “But we’ve been trying to downsize for some time.”

The store currently covers around 20,000 square meters in the shopping center, which also houses Beyond Bread, Bookmans East Entertainment Exchange and Philly’s Finest.

Annabel’s inventory includes furniture, crystal, dishes, lamps, and works of art.

“Anything you find in a house,” said Gillette. “We get 20 emails a day from people who have to sell an item or an entire household so we don’t have to spend a lot of time looking for goods.”

They also have over 60 feet of jewelry on display.

The original showroom at Annabell’s Attic contains “Everything You Can Find in a House,” said owner Matt Gillette.

“We don’t do any picking, we buy everything direct,” he said. “Mostly customers come to us.”
