Actor Josh Holloway will star in the HBO Max series “Duster,” which is being filmed in Tucson.
Production will start this month. With production comes a big boost for Tucson’s film industry.
“It’s work for everyone,” said Headley. “There are over a hundred different jobs in a film production company that comes here. Lots of people are hired. Like I said, I don’t know what the exact budget of Duster is, the film is from HBO / Warner Brothers. but it’s huge. ”
To direct the HBO Max series “Duster” in Tucson, the state has awarded the production company $ 9.4 million in the Visit Arizona Initiative Partnership grant.
The state says the project will have an economic impact of $ 65 million in the first year of potential multi-year production.
They say the notoriety that the series brings to Tucson could spark a major tourism boom, as “Breaking Bad” did for New Mexico and “Yellowstone” now for Montana.
“People are going to want to see where this show is filmed,” Headley said. “So people will come here and spend money.”
