The 2022 festival is the seventh in the festival’s eight years. The 2021 event was initially postponed to spring, but was eventually canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This will be Batiste’s first concert in Tucson since debuting with a series of UA Presents concerts at the Club Congress in 2013, giving him and his band the chance to “touch more people and truly have that human connection.” His encore on January 21st will take place in the 2,500-seat Centennial Hall as part of a co-production with the University of Arizona arts presenter Arizona Arts Live.
