Co-owner Jeremy Pye, who co-founded Copper Mine Brewing with Jeffrey Kaber, said the pandemic didn’t cause as much damage as it could have done thanks to government loans and grants, a dedicated staff and a loyal fan base.
“We are resilient,” said Pye.
Bring the meat
When it comes to choosing a good meal, my father’s taste tends to be based on shared experience: grazing on sausage plates together and enjoying barbecues in the garden with friends and family.
Sausage takeaway is a big deal these days and something I’m giving myself a lot of thought to for this Father’s Day. Tucson companies with cute names like Cuts and Slabs Charcuterie, Fig + Feta, and Board + Brie have grown in popularity.
Board + Brie (facebook.com/boardbrietucson) even has a charcuterie board on the topic of Father’s Day called “The Flight Deck”. It combines mini bottles of whiskey and tequila with an assortment of meats and cheeses, fruits, and nuts for $ 95.
If your dad would prefer to get out of the house, as my parents preferred after a year of lockdown, the Chef’s Board at Cielo’s at Lodge on the Desert, 306 N. Alvernon Way is a yummy $ 20 option with a delicious combination of artisanal cheese, dried fruits, nuts, sausages, jam, pickled vegetables and crostinis to share.
