TUCSON (KVOA) – The rain and rescues started early.

At 8 a.m., three people were pulled from a truck in Overton and La Cholla. Both the Golder Ranch and the Northwest Fire Departments responded to the call. Everyone got out safely. A driver in another car escaped on his own.

Closer to town, two people were dragged from the Flowing Wells Wash near Prince and Romero Streets. The Tucson Fire Department says the two hovered more than half a mile before being rescued.

Pima County’s Office of Emergency Management warned on Twitter that water could overflow the banks of Canyon Del Oro Wash, flooding nearby homes.

Pima County’s regional Flood Control District said it would monitor the scars from the Bighorn Fire.

“We could look again at these oversaturated soil conditions, which means that water on water on water and the soil cannot infiltrate that water,” said program manager Joseph Cuffari.
