Tucson police investigate deadly east-side crash

TUCSON, Arizona (KOLD News 13) – A woman is dead after a two-vehicle accident on the east side of Tucson over the weekend.

Tucson Police Department investigators announced in a press release that the crash occurred near the intersection of South Craycroft Road and East Golf Links Road around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021. A black 2020 Jeep Cherokee drove there on Golf. Heading West Links met a red 2015 Chevy Malibu as the Malibu driver attempted to turn north from Golf Links onto South Craycroft Road.

When the Malibu drove over the intersection, the traffic light for trips to the east and west was continuously green according to the notification. The driver of the jeep and the passenger on the Malibu were taken to a local hospital, where the Malibu passenger – identified as 69-year-old Catherine Patterson – died later that day.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges or allegations have been made.
