SAHUARITA, Arizona (KVOA) – A Tucson man was arrested in Sahuarita Wednesday morning following a persecution, police said.

Sahuarita officials attempted a traffic control on a Mitsubishi Eclipse shortly after 6 a.m. for damage to the window tint. The vehicle fled the area and led the officers on a brief chase.

MPs later spotted the vehicle on Interstate 19.

“The vehicle tried to evade law enforcement by crossing the central reservation of the highway, but the vehicle was obstructed,” Sahuarita police said.

The driver reportedly escaped on foot near I-19 and Pima Mine Road. He wasn’t around.

At around 10 a.m., the SPD received a message that a suspicious person had been sighted near the Desert Diamond Casino.

The driver has been identified as Michael Caylor, 37.

According to the police, there is an arrest warrant against him.

The 37-year-old has been detained in Pima County Jail on the warrant and illegally escaping from law enforcement.
