Teaching was one of his great joys, and his proudest moments were when he felt he had made a difference in a student’s life. He was an avid skier and tennis player, and enjoyed movies, art collections, and wine tastings. He was a longtime member of the Catalina United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher for many years. After retiring in 1989, he was a dedicated volunteer for the Pima County Democratic Party and attended several national conventions as a delegate. He and Barbara also enjoyed traveling and doing road trips around the country and cruises across Europe and Africa.
He is survived by his daughter Ashley Silverburg; Son-in-law, Ted Bunn; Sister Toby Green and nieces and nephews Betsy Green Marsh, Asher Green and Bill Green.
A memorial service will be held at the Catalina United Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. (Please wear a mask.) Instead of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Casa de los Niños or the Community Food Bank. Arrangements by OASIS CREMATION AND FUNERAL CARE.
