TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) – Two new restaurants are coming to Tucson.

Local restaurateur Sam Fox of Fox Restaurant Concepts is working with Brian Frakes of the Common Bond Development Group to bring two new restaurants to Tucson, Flower Child and Doughbird.

In late 2022, the restaurants will open at Campbell Plaza at 2960 N. Campbell Avenue, a former restaurant in Old Chicago. This will be the second bespoke build for Common Bond and Fox Restaurant Concepts in Tucson, following the first culinary dropout in 2017.

The Common Bond Development Group has also recreated the locations of Postino WineCafé and Snooze, an AM Eatery.

“We spent almost five years looking for just the right location on Campbell Avenue until we found the perfect standalone pad,” said Brian Frakes, director of Common Bond and a native of Tucson. “Not only is it just around the corner from Culinary Dropout, but it’s also located on one of the city’s major north-south arteries and on the east side of the street, perfect for people driving home from downtown and looking for a pop-in are a quick meal or to get something for the way home. “

Both Flower Child and Doughbird will be close to the last opening which was Culinary Dropout.

“We’re always looking for great growth opportunities in Tucson and we’ve finally found the perfect location for these two restaurants,” said Sam Fox. “Bringing Flower Child to Tucson has been our long-standing goal and we are delighted to be able to do this with Doughbird, a concept we are only just beginning to develop. At this challenging time for our industry, we are grateful to our loyal guests in Tucson and hope that they will continue to enjoy these restaurants. “

Flower Child caters to all lifestyles including vegetarian, vegan, meat-eating, gluten-free, keto and paleo foods with a customizable menu from scratch. While Doughbird includes a pizza and chicken duo, with hand stretched and square pan pizza in Detroit style alongside rotisserie and crispy chicken.

The two restaurants are scheduled to open at the end of 2022.
