Arizona Daily Star

The Arizona Daily Star starts the Christmas season with a present for our readers.

Starting December 5th, we’re going to be sharing a page with Tucson wrapping paper to show your loved ones your old Pueblo pride.

For this year’s 12 Days of Cheer, we’re bringing back some oldies but goodies with designs by Arizona Daily Star editorial cartoonist David Fitzsimmons, graphic artist Chiara Bautista, and snapshots from our talented photography team.

Make sure to pick up a copy of the Arizona Daily Star each day by December 16 to pick up each copy. You can also visit Tucson.com/cheer to download and print the images yourself.

David Fitzsimmons: Fitz, who came to the star in 1986, claims he was born in an arroyo and raised on spears and quail which is why they often appear in his cartoons and here on his wrapping paper.

Fitz is considered older than most saguaro and says, “I love Christmas. I still own the same aluminum Christmas tree we used to put up at the Arroyo – and I’m on a diet that includes only eggnog, Christmas cheer, and Christmas tamales. My wrapping paper is ideal for wrapping Saguaro sweaters or Javelina hats. “
