Tucson flight aprons has worked hard to bring people together by introducing some of the vibrant Tucson food scene into the kitchen of their home.
Each of the courses are taught by some of Tucson and Southern Arizona’s finest culinary professionals, including restaurant chefs, personal chefs, and bakers, all of whom represent the most creative and delicious recipes in the area.

Recently, Flying Aprons only offered the cooking classes online, but now you have the option to choose in-person classes as well.
The October cooking classes are $ 75 each for in-person and $ 40 for Zoom virtual classes. You can now also register for one of the following courses.

Monday, October 18, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The class “Autumn Comfort Food in Tucson style with Saguaro Corners head chef / partner CJ Hamm“Will be personal and limited to 25 people. The course is also available on Zoom.
“We are ready for autumn! Known for their home-style cooking with a Tucson touch, the menu from Chef / Partner CJ Hamm at Saguaro Corners prepares you for the season. There is also a special treat: We have the restaurant and the bar to ourselves, as it is usually closed on Mondays. “

- Fried pork loin with cumin crust – with local bourbon apple jus, chipotle honey mashed yams, agave braised kale and pumpkin panna cotta with candied lemon and prickly pear coulis
- A specially curated whiskey cocktail to complement the flavors will be sold separately

Monday, October 25th from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
The class with a “Celebrating the Day of the Dead – Sugar Skulls, Cookies & Pan Muerto“Course, is personal and limited to 20 people.
“On November 2nd, deceased relatives return and are greeted with offrendas (offerings) on altars covered with sugar skulls, food, candles, photos and other items.”

- La Estrella Bakery’s newest location at 901 N. Grande Ave.
What’s on the menu
- Make a sugar skull in a shape that you will take home with you
- Decorate a sugar skull, cookie
- Dead bread – the orange and anise light, fluffy yeast bread.
- Isabel Montaño, Jorge Franco and Erica Franco, children of the founders Marta and Antonio Franco, will tell stories and the story of Día de los Muertos, Sugar Skulls and Pan Muerto and guide you step by step in your decoration.

Wednesday, October 27th from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
The “Cheese making: mozzarella, burrata & ricotta“Course is available on Zoom or in person (limited to 20 people).
“The soft texture of mozzarella, the creaminess of burrata (the soft shell with a creamy center), and the lightness of ricotta – you’ll make some of the richest, tastiest cheeses of all time.”
